What’s the difference between “Display name” and “Personal ID”?
-
Display name is displayed in adacraft website pages, such as the user profile or in the projects’ cards. Several users can have the same display name.
-
Personal ID is optional and is used in the URL to your profile. Obviously, this one has to be unique.
Example where display name is “Nicolas” and personal ID is “ogadaki”
An email address is needed to create an account. What is it used for? How safe is it?
Here are some information on this subject:
- On account creation, adacraft demands to provide an email address, which is mandatory to proceed.
- This email address is used in only one situation: when the user asks to reset her password.
- You can provide anything that looks like an email, there is no check that the email exists.
- If you provide a fake address, the only issue is that you won't be able to reset your password.
- For now, beside Netlify Identity service (which is used for authentication), only one person (the main maintener of adacraft) can access the email addresses given during adacraft account creations.
We fully understand that people don't want to give personal info. So really, feel free to provide fake email address (if you're OK that you have to remember your password).
You can also still use adacraft without creating an account, in that case you can save your projects as sb3 files on your computer.
